The Oxford Giclée & Photographic Centre are specialists in digital canvas printing. Using all of our expertise gained through fine art Giclée printing, we are able to print upon archival quality 100% cotton canvas with all of the quality associated with fine art prints. Hahnemuhle canvas provides a stunning media which produces beautiful images with outstanding colour and tonal definition. A special UV resistant coating is applied to canvases to increase durability and print longetivity.
Fine art can be digitally reproduced upon canvas giving the same look and feel as original paintings. This opens up new markets for limited edition print runs.
Digital fine art reproduction can be achieved using our Scan/Capture service or we are able to accept digital files of sufficient quality.
Below are a few tips outlining how to create quality files:
-TIFF files saved without compression are the best format for printing. Other file formats compress the image and thus reduce its quality. Other file formats are accepted for photographs printed on canvas but not recommended for fine art.
-300dpi is the optimum resolution for producing prints. Anything less will severely reduce the sharpness and tonality of the print.
-Files should be saved at the largest size possible. Never shrink the size of your file. We have software that can upscale images to larger sizes if needed.
-Save files with the ADOBE RGB colour profile embedded.. Srgb is accepted for photographic printing on canvas but not recommended for fine art reproduction.
-Files can be sent to us on DVD, CD, Memory cards or uploaded via FTP. Please contact us for details on FTP transfer as we have to set up custom passwords.
More information about submitting files for canvas printing can be found on the Proof page.
Canvas prints are offered with a choice of gallery wrap (Image wraps around frame edge) or traditional finish over 40mm or 28mm deep stretcher bars. Please contact us if you are unsure about gallery/traditional wraps.
Oxford Giclée & Photographic Centre accepts no responsibility for copyright. The customer must own the copyright before we will print the images.
