Some artists need artworks digitised for catalogues or publications. As these uses do not require large file sizes we offer a capture service that utilises all of our equipment and knowledge of limited edition or archival capture but resulting in a smaller file more suited to websites or catalogues.
Files are saved to CD as TIFFs in the Adobe RGB 1998 colourspace at a resolution of 300dpi and a size of 6x4in (or as close as possible whilst keeping the original aspect ratio of the artwork.)
Oxford Giclée & Photographic Centre use the latest 5x4in scanback technology from Better Light. Coupled with the quality movements & ultra sharp lens of a large format camera, our technicians are able to produce a digital file of the original art that has unrivaled colour accuracy, wide tonal range & ultra sharp definition.
The three dimensional qualities of impasto works are captured by the careful use of HDI lights. These high output lights are energy efficient so they do not give out lots of heat that could endanger artwork. The minimal levels of U.V discharged from the lights make them ideal for museum/archival use.
